Description
A WORK OF ART PERFECTLY LOCATED
Location is always of paramount importance in residential real estate and this condominium is perfectly positioned at the south end entrance to New York’s Central Park and its treasured 843 acre expanse of greenery.
THE RESIDENCE
The floorplan and photos can only begin to convey the uniqueness of this residence.
The recent total renovation of the combination of two apartments, a 60th floor and a 61st floor residence, is an incredible achievement by Thirlwall Design Architects, so unique to New York City that this is the only residence they have created here.
A- This project consisted of a combination of two separate units into a single unified duplex with a full renovation and interior design for all the spaces. This project included a complete overhaul of the apartment with all new finishes, lighting, custom stairway, millwork, bathrooms, closets, and kitchen.
B- The concept for the design was Thirlwall’s take on organic minimalism with the integration of natural materials and textures, also considering a certain awareness of Asian culture, particularly Japanese, through the reinterpretation of traditional motifs and themes present details throughout the design.
A generally neutral color palette with different textures was selected to evoque a calming space in the city with the main focus on the views to Central Park.
THE VIEWS
This approx. 3,580 square foot four bedrooms into three, with three full baths and two powder rooms has remarkable views from every room, and the living room and primary bedroom have views in two directions, both east over Central Park and north with magnificent skyline views.
Each room is designed to amplify magnificent views through the 41 floor to ceiling windows.
On a clear day, you can see over 12 miles into the distance, East to the East End and North to the Hudson River and the George Washington Bridge. It almost looks as if you can see the curvature of the earth.
ARTFUL IDEAS
Within the entire apartment is a work of art.
Each piece a furniture is designed for precisely where it has been placed and has a unique feature to discover. (As each piece of furniture is an integral part of the room, the furnishings could be acquired separately.)
The kitchen is unique in that the stove cook service expands outward when needed and retracts. A huge television screen in the primary bedroom descends from the ceiling and then can also pivot toward the sitting area in the same room.
Another TV screen in the family room can also emerge from the wall and then achieve an angle for viewing from the kitchen area.
All of the systems can be accessed via an app on your phone.
