Carter's Review
This attractive, pre-war, red-brick apartment building at 10 Mitchell Place was built in 1931 and has 96 cooperative apartments.
The mid-block building, which is known as Stewart Hall, is between Beekman Place and First Avenue. Mitchell Place is only one block long and it is ramped upwards from the west to the east. It is across from the driveway for the twin-towered buildings of 860 and 870 United Nations Plaza that are on the north border of the United Nations Park.
The 14-story building, which was built around 1928, has a canopied, step-down entrance, a 24-hour doorman, a landscaped roof deck and bicycle storage.
The 99 apartments have woodburning fireplaces, entry foyers, beamed ceilings and windowed kitchens. The building, which is pet friendly, has no garage.
There is good public transportation in the area and numerous restaurants.
