Carter's Review

This very large, 11-story building was erected in 2005 by Washington Group LLC, which is headed by David Walentas, the principal of Two Trees. and designed by Ismael Leyva.  It contains 321 rental apartments.

It is also known as 211-235 Atlantic Avenue and 204-224 State Street.

Bottom Line

Straddling Downtown Brooklyn, Brooklyn Heights and Cobble Hill, this very large and handsome rental building has a 40,000-square-foot fitness center, a garage and a roof deck.

Description

The orange-brick building has a six-story base and setback towers surmounted by very large top floor towers with corner windows on Court Street.  Some of the tower units are very handsome duplexes with very large windows with white surrounds.

The building has an entrance marquee with a white stone surround and much of the building’s masonry façade is rusticated.

The building contains a 40,000-square foot YMCA fitness center.

It has discrete air-conditioners and a courtyard.

Amenities

The building has a concierge, a doorman and a live-in superintendent, a roof deck, a gym, a garage, and a bicycle room.

There are laundry rooms on each floor.

The building is pet-friendly.

Apartments

Apartments have red oak flooring.

A two-bedroom unit in the center of the building’s Court Street base has an entry foyer across from its open, pass-through kitchen next to its 18-foot-long living room.

Two-bedroom units at the Court Street corners have 1,068 square feet of space with long entry foyers that lead to open kitchens with islands and 19-foot-long living rooms.

One-bedroom units with 602 square feet of space facing the courtyard have 15-foot-long living rooms with narrow balconies and open, pass-through kitchens.

Studio units facing the courtyard have 465 square feet with a 13-foot-long living rooms with 9-foot-long, windowed alcoves and open, pass-through kitchens.
