Carter's Review
This modest but attractive, 6-story, mid-block building at 134 West 83rd Street between Columbus and Amsterdam avenues was erected in 2018 by The Grid Group.
It has 6 condominium apartments.
It was designed by DHD Architecture, which is headed by David Howell, and is notable for its façade of narrow light-grey brick reminiscent of the very handsome bluestone brick used at 41 Bond Street that was designed by DDG in 2011.
It is the fourth collaboration between the development and the architect. Their other projects include 124 West 16th Street and 145 Ludlow Street.
Bottom Line
In a sweet spot on the Upper East Side not far from many restaurants, Zabar's, Barnes & Nobles, a cineplex and good public transportation, this attractive, mid-block building sports an elegant, narrow grey-brick rustication.
