Carter's Review
This handsome, 12-story building at 151 West 86th Street was erected in 1913 at the same time that its slightly wider "twin" at 161 West 86th Street.
Both beige-brick buildings were designed by Rouse & Gladstone with decorative balconies on the 8th floor, bandcourses on the 4th, 5th and 11th floors, cornices, and some window surrounds on the 11th floor,
Other Manhattan buildings designed by the same architects include 1107 Fifth Avenue, 141 and 164 East 72nd Street, 755, 760, 850 and 872 Park Avenue, 108 West 86th Street, 943 and 955 Lexington Avenue, and 680 West End Avenue.
This building has 89 co-operative apartments, a doorman, a roof deck, a live-in superintendent, a handyman, and tenant storage. It permits pets and there is excellent public transportation.
It is to the west of the very handsome Jewish Center on the same block.
