76 CITYREALTY RATING
  • #22 in Broadway Corridor

Carter's Review

This very handsome, 13-story, mid-block apartment building at 207 West 79th street between Amsterdam Avenue and Broadway was erected in 2017 and has 19 condominium units.

The developer is Anbau.

Morris Adjmi is the architect.

The building is just to the east of the exuberantly detailed, luscious, dark pink Lucerne Hotel with large banded entrance columns at the Amsterdam corner and Amsterdam Avenue abounds in restaurants.

There is excellent public transportation.

Bottom Line

Large apartments in an elegant mid-block, mid-rise building with terracotta detailing that is convenient to many restaurants, the American Museum of Natural History and very good public transportation.

Description

The building has a three-story, rusticated limestone base and buff-colored masonry above with broad terracotta panels with floral detailing between its windows. That detailing is thematically picked up in the design of the wallpaper in the apartment floor corridors.

Master bathrooms are tiled with Empire-style rattan pattern in marble and porcelain with Bianco Bello marble countertops and vanities with “micro-architectural fluting and faceting on the brushed nickel Lefroy Brooks fixtures.

The building’s lobby has an elegant, slightly tiered coffered ceiling with a large glass chandelier.

Amenities

The building has a 24-hour attended lobby, a live-in superintendent, a fitness studio, a bicycle room, storage and a children’s playroom.
