Carter's Review
The building at 203 West 90th Street began as a 6-story rental apartment building in 1928 and 5 stories were added in 2002 when the building was renamed the Manhattan Tower Condo.
The building now has 83 apartments.
It has a doorman, a fitness center and a central laundry room and washer/dryers and pets are permitted.
The base of the building, which is also known as 620-628 Amsterdam Avenue, has fire escapes and some fireplaces.
Alfredo G. Carballude of CMA Design Studio PC was the architect for the addition that was undertaken by Adam Katz, president of Sendar Dev of Great Neck, NY.
CMA Design Studio also designed a similar project for Swig Equities in 2005 to add 9-stories to the six-story buildings at 201 West 92nd Street and 200 West 93rd Street. The buildings were acquired by Mendel Mendlowits in 2008 but in January 2010 Istar Financial filed suit to foreclose on a $46 million mortgage on the property.
