Carter's Review
This 9-story building at 75 Clinton Street in Brooklyn Heights was erected in 1910 and converted by Invesco to a rental building in 2012 after it acquired the property, which had been planned as a condominium by Marshall Weisman.
It has 74 apartments.
Edgar Rawlings was the architect for the conversion.
The building is also known as 168-170 Montague Street and 143-145 Remsen Street and was formerly a white-brick building with horizontal fenestration banding.
Bottom Line
Its excellent location in Brooklyn Heights and nice detailing make up considerably for its fairly utilitarian and modest exterior design.
Description
A long, narrow slab with light orange, long bricks over a handsome one-story, blue-gray stone base with an entrance marquee, this building has balconies on its short ends between the 4th and 8th floors and some Juliet balconies on the 4th, 6th and 8th floors on its long façade. There are also thin, discrete and quite handsome light blue piers between the second floor and the top of the building. They are a subtle touch that significantly improve the building’s appearance.
The building has sidewalk landscaping.
Amenities
The building has a 24-hour doorman, a fitness center, a roof deck, bicycle racks and storage bins.
