Carter's Review

This  attractive, 12-story building at 76 Schermerhorn Street in Brooklyn was developed by Lonicera Partners, Orange Management and The Davis Companies and sales started in 2019.  It has 59 condominium apartments.

Eugene Colberg of Colberg Architecture designed the building and Studio DB is the interior designer for the residences, amenity spaces, and the curtain wall.

It is known as The Symon.

Bottom Line

A pleasant mid-rise near Brooklyn Heights with attractive sidewalk landscaping, automated parking, a roof deck and a façade modulated with light and dark elements.

Description

The building has slightly arched windows on the second and top floors.

The top floor has a dark façade while the rest of the building is faced with beige brick with many windows having wide dark brown brick sections.  There is a setback near the top of the building.

Thin dark piers frame the building and also divide the façade into sections.

The building has a large entrance marquee and vertical sidewalk planters of varying heights.

The oak-paneled lobby has a large and attractive marble concierge desk and handsome marble floor.

Amenities

The building has a residents' lounge with a fireplace, kitchen and bar and a garden terrace, a landscaped roof deck, a fitness center with Peloton cycling equipment, a 24/7 attended lobby, a garage with automated parking, a children's playroom, a bicycle room, storage and a entrance marquee.

Apartments

Units have entry foyers with large solid-panel doors, crown molding accents, eight-inch baseboards, and inlaid wood flooring medallions with a basket-weave motif.

Other appointments include divided-light windows and custom washed-oak floors, raised-panel cabinetry, marble countertops and furnished kitchen appliances, diamond tile patterns in the bathrooms, and master bath fixtures in antique brass from Waterworks. Select residences will offer private outdoor space and terraces with gas grills.

Three penthouses are set to crown the top of the development.
