It was designed by Schwartz & Gross for the Bricken Construction Company.
Bottom Line
A handsome, pre-war building in the heart of Carnegie Hill.

The building has a three-story limestone base with a bandcourse above the second floor and stringcourses above the third, 12th and 14th floors.
It has a canopied entrance and a cornice.

“The entrance to his understated neo-Renaissance building is flanked with pairs of Corinthian pilasters supporting a simple entablature,” according to the “Carnegie Hill Architectural Guide” published by Carnegie Hill Neighbors.
“Above the door is a double window with a scrolled enframement and keystone….The bandcourse under the third floor is detailed with an edge roll and a dentil course. The remaining twelve stories are of buff brick, with the edges marked by stone quoins….Visual interest focuses on the thirteenth and fourteenth stories: Window pairs are framed by rope moldings and topped with a dentiled cornice and an escutcheon. Two single windows have scrolled enframements. A row of dentils, an egg-and-dart band and modillions comprise the ornate building cornice,” the guide continued.
