Carter's Review
This handsome, 15-story red-brick apartment building at 1112 Park Avenue on the southwest corner at 90th Street in Carnegie Hill was erected in 1927 and designed by Emery Roth, whose other buildings on the avenue include 784, 1009 and 1175 Park Avenue and the Ritz Tower on the northeast corner at 57th Street.
The building has about 43 cooperative apartments.
Bottom Line
One block south of the Brick Presbyterian Church and two blocks east of the former Andrew Carnegie mansion on 5th Avenue across from the entrance to the track around the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir, this pre-war apartment building has a prime Carnegie Hill address.
Description
The building has a half-story limestone base, limestone quoins between the first and third floors on the avenue, limestone window surrounds on the first and 12th floors, a broad bandcourse above the third floor, attractive decorative window surrounds on the 12th floor, a canopied entrance and sidewalk landscaping on the sidestreet and an attractive watertank enclosure.
It permits protruding window air-conditioners and has inconsistent fenestration.

History
The building is just to the north of two low-rise, mid-block buildings that were acquired in 2012 by Toll Brothers, which filed plans by architect Barry Rice for a 16-story apartment building with 11 units.
