Carter's Review
This very handsome, 11-story apartment building was erected in 1929 and converted to a cooperative in 1986. It has 82 apartments.
The red-brick building has a very nice garden in a deep light well as well as sidewalk landscaping on this quiet street.
The façade is punctuated with decorative limestone spandrels and the canopied entrance has a four-story-high limestone surround. The doorman building has a battlement roofline, step-up entrance and a step-down lobby.
This is a busy, but convenient neighborhood. Supermarkets and video rental stores are nearby and an express subway station is three blocks to the north. There is excellent crosstown bus service on 86th Street, where there are movie theaters and a wide variety of stores, and 79th Streets.
There are many restaurants in the vicinity and Central Park and Fifth Avenue's "Museum Mile" are not far away.
