Carter's Review

The impressive, mid-block, 7-story, 7-unit residential condominium building at 180 East 93rd Street in Carnegie Hill was completed in 2009.

Each unit has a terrace or balcony, a library or study, bay windows, stone-surround fireplaces and eat-in kitchens.

The building has a geothermal well, a doorman, a children s playroom, wine storage, and a fitness center.

Apartments have an integrated controller that can adjust climate, surveillance, security and lighting as well as multi-room audio and multi-media entertainment.

Eat-in kitchens have Pietra Cardosa slate countertops and Franke fixtures and Energy Star appliances including Viking stainless steel side-by-side refrigerator and freezer and Viking Professional series stainless steel ranges and Bosch stainless steel dishwashers.

Master bathrooms have Dornbracht fittings and double-sink vanities.

A maisonette unit will have a bi-level garden irrigated by collected rainwater and one of the penthouses will have a 1,800-square-foot terrace.

Barry Rice is the architect. His other projects include 21 East 96th Street on the northwest corner at Madison Avenue, 19 St. Mark's Place and 591 Park Avenue.

Greystone Property Development, of which Douglas Benach is a principal, is the builder.

The apartments range in size from about 1,500 to 3,000 square feet.
