This attractive, red-brick apartment building at 1501 Lexington Avenue on the southeast corner at 97th Streets was erected in 2001. The 12-floor building has 160 rental apartments.
It is called The Monterey at Lex. The much larger and curved Monterey apartment house is on the same block at the northwest corner at 96th Street.
It was developed by Monterey Properties and designed by SLCE Architects.
It is very convenient to public transportation and is close to the handsome Carnegie Hill neighborhood.

A handsome, mid-rise, red-brick apartment building that is very convenient to public transportation with some corner and some bay windows and a one-story rusticated base.

Above the sixth floor, the building has corner windows at three of its corners and some bay windows where its façades are indented.
