This attractive, 14-story apartment building at 19 West 69th Street was erected in 1916 and has 83 rental apartments.
The mid-block building is between Central Park West and Columbus Avenue.
It was designed by Schwartz & Gross for the Waitt Realty Company. It is now owned by the Brodsky Organization.
It is within the Central Park West Historic District. It was once known as the Congress Hotel.
Bottom Line
A pleasant, red-brick, mid-block rental building with small apartments but an impressive entrance marquee and a good Upper West Side location close to Central Park and not far from Lincoln Center.
Description
The red-brick building has a large and impressive entrance marquee. but no sidewalk landscaping.
Its lower two floors has two pairs of red-brick columns rising from a terracotta base and culminating in the broad terracotta bandcourse. There is another bandcourse above the third floor and another above the 12th floor.
