Carter's Review
This handsome, 18-story apartment building at 275 Central Park West between 87th and 88th Streets was erected in 1931 and designed in Neo-Renaissance style by Emery Roth, who also designed the San Remo, Beresford and San Remo twin-towered apartment buildings on the same boulevard.
It has 114 rental apartments.
It was built by Louis E. Kleban and is owned by Georgia Properties Inc.
Bottom Line
This very attractive, pre-war apartment building was designed by Emery Roth and has a nice, quiet location and large apartments, many with fireplaces, on Central Park West that is very convenient to public transportation.
Description
The light tan-brick building has numerous non-symmetrical setbacks at its top and its roofline is punctuated by a small, temple-like structure in the middle.
The building has a canopied entrance with a two-and-half-story broken pediment entrance surround and no sidewalk landscaping. It has multi-paned windows.
The building also has a couple of very decorative window surrounds, also with broken pediments and balustrated bases. It also permits protruding window air-conditioners.
Amenities
The building has a doorman, a live-in superintendent and a laundry.
