This very handsome, pre-war apartment building at 485 Central Park West on the southwest corner at 109th Street was erected in 1900 and converted to a co-operative in 1986.

Description
The red-brick, Italian Renaissance-style building has a two-story limestone base with decorative bandcourses above the second and sixth stories. The top floor has arched windows beneath a large cornice.
The building is divided into two main sections by a fenced courtyard.
The building has decorative quoins at its corners and the center window on the third floor has a handsome, colonnaded surround with a rounded pediment and a handsome balcony.
The building has fire-escapes on the side-street and in its courtyard off Central Park West.
