Carter's Review

Chelsea Green is an extremely handsome, 14-story residential condominium building at 151 West 21st Street in Chelsea that was erected in 2012 by Alfa Development, which was founded by Michael Namer, and designed by Stephen B. Jacobs Group Architects PC. 

It has 51 apartments.

Bottom Line

A very attractive, mid-block apartment building in the heart of Chelsea with a very decorative and handsome entrance.

Description

The mid-block building is distinguished by its very ornate, first-floor, perforated screen and wavy canopy as well as its dark blue brise soleils above its window groupings. 

It is setback above its ninth floor and the setback tower has a different fenestration pattern from the base and numerous balconies.  Both sections are attractively framed in gray stone.

Amenities

The building has a concierge, a live-in superintendent, a landscaped, roof deck, a bicycle room, a fitness center, a storage room, and a billiard room.

Apartments

Many apartments have balconies, floor-to-ceiling windows and 7-inch-wide plank walnut flooring by Porcelanosa, and a Daikin central heating and cooling system. 

Kitchens are designed by chef Eric Ripert for Poggenpohl in teak lava finish with Caesarstone countertops with Smeg, Liebherr and Bosch stainless steel appliances. 

Baths have rain showers, radiant heat floors, fixtures by Toto, deep soaking tubs by Neptune and frameless glass showers. 

Apartment E on floors 2 through 9 is a two-bedroom unit with an entry foyer across from a pass-through kitchen and a 25-foot-long living/dining room. 

Apartment A on floors 2 through 9 is a one-bedroom unit with 771 square feet and a 17-foot-long living/dining room with open kitchen. 

Apartment 10B is a two-bedroom unit with 1,534 square feet of interior space and 771 square feet of exterior space on two terraces.  It has a 26-foot-long living room with an open kitchen that leads to a 15-foot-long dining room.

Apartment 10A is a three-bedroom unit with an entry foyer that leads to a 20-foot-long dining room and a pass-through kitchen and a 16-foot-long living room with a 23-foot-long terrace.  The master bedroom leads to a 37-foot-long terrace on the other side of the building. 

Apartment 11B is a two-bedroom unit with a 26-foot-long living room with a 16-foot-wide balcony and an open kitchen that leads to a 15-foot-long dining room. 

Apartment 11A is a three-bedroom unit with an entry foyer that opens onto a 20-foot-wide dining room with a 16-foot-wide balcony next to a 6-foot-long living room with a pass-through kitchen. 

Apartment 13A is a three-bedroom unit with 1,573 square feet and a 550-square-foot-terrace and a 29-foot-long living/dining room with an open kitchen with an island. 

The penthouse is a four-bedroom unit with two balconies with a 54-foot-long living/dining room with an open kitchen with an island that flows into a 13-foot-long study. 

Penthouse E is a one-bedroom unit with a 13-foot-long living room with a balcony.
