Carter Horsley's Building Review Carter Horsley

Carter's Review

This attractive, 10-story building has an excellent location in the Ladies' Mile District along the Avenue of the Americas and is very convenient to not only Chelsea, but also the West Village and the Flatiron districts.

The 17-unit, red-brick building has large windows with nice rough-hewn stone lintels and eight terraces, one of which is angled on the 6th floor at the avenue corner.

The building has a nice lobby paneled with European beech wood with a floor of honed Val Verde limestone. It has a canopied entrance and a doorman. Some ceilings are as high as 12 feet 6 inches.

Every apartment has a washer and dryer and Brazilian cherry hardwood flooring and six-foot windows.

The kitchens have polished black granite countertops, Siematic Shaker style maple cabinetry, Subzero refrigerator, Marvel under-counter 50-bottle wine cellar, Bosch stainless steel dishwasher, and a Viking 6-burner steel range.

The master bathrooms feature warm beige limestone floors and wainscoted walls, Val Verde honed limestone countertops and Kohler oversized bathtubs and thermostatic control showers with hand shower and rain-head. Second baths feature white and black hexagon tile floors, and powder rooms feature warm irridescent sandstone glass mosaic tile walls and Golden Durango honed limestone floor.

Some of the units have gas fireplaces and walk-in closets.

This building is across the sidestreet from the attractive New York Foundling Hospital.

There is good public transportation in the vicinity as well as excellent retail and many restaurants.
