Carter's Review

This 42-story apartment building at 343 Gold Street in the Fort Greene section of Brooklyn is known as Avalon Fort Greene and was erected by AvalonBay Communities in 2009.

It was design by Perkins Eastman Architects.

It has 631 rental apartments and was erected in 2009.

It is also known as 207-211 Flatbush Avenue Extension, 157-171 Myrtle avenue and 104-130 Prince Street.

 

Bottom Line

A handsome tower with many small apartments in a cluster of downtown high-rises.

Description

The light-orange masonry tower has many corner windows and some setbacks.

It also has landscaped courtyards and disabled access and an 17,000-square-foot urban park plaza.

Amenities

The building has a fitness center, a residents’ lounge, a concierge service, WiFi access in common areas, bicycle storage, and garage parking with valet.  It is pet-friendly.

Apartments have washers and dryers.

Kitchens have maple cabinetry, granite countertops, breakfast bars, dishwashers and self-cleaning ovens and vaulted ceilings.
