Carter's Review
This very handsome, 5-story building at 66 Water Street in the Dumbo section of Brooklyn was erected in 1910 and has 23 rental apartments.
The building, which is known as Dumbo Lofts, is owned by Two Trees.
James Corner Field Operations was the landscape architect.
The building has ground-floor retail and is on a cobblestone street close to the East River and the Brooklyn Bridge.
It is also adjacent to the large new residential development at 60 Water Street, also owned by Two Trees, that is distinguished by its thin, vertical steel fins that are angular. That building, which was completed in 2015, was designed by Lesser Architects and Ismael Levy.
Bottom Line
This low-rise, red-brick building near the Brooklyn Bridge is very handsome despite missing its shutters and is on a cobblestone street with a few, large apartments.
