Carter's Review

This pleasant, 9-story apartment building at 2132 Second Avenue on the southeast corner at 110th Street was erected in 2006 with 31 condominium apartments.

It was designed by Peter F. Poons and was developed by Kirin Grocery Inc., of which Sai-Yao Chou is a principal.

Bottom Line

An attractive, red-brick apartment building on a major intersection in East Harlem close to the great four towers of 1199 Plaza nearby to the east along the East River.

Description

The red-brick building, which is also known as 300 East 110th Street, has a glass entrance canopy and ground-floor retail.

Amenities

The building has a full-time resident superintendent, a courtyard, a laundry and storage. The building is pet-friendly.

Apartments

Apartments have individual, gas-fired hot water, heating/air conditioning units and open kitchens with maple cabinetry, stainless-steel GE appliances, polished granite countertops.

The penthouse has a double-height living room with a fireplace, three bedrooms, a staircase to a curved mezzanine level with a master bedroom suite, a dining area, a laundry room, a 17-foot-wide, enclosed kitchen and a 7-sided, large breakfast nook with two doors to terraces. The upper floor has a study and two bedrooms that share a long terrace.  The unit has its own elevator.

Apartment 4E is a one-bedroom unit with an 18-foot-long living room next to an enclosed 7-foot-long, pass-through kitchen.

Apartment 6A is a two-bedroom unit with a 14-foot-long living room and a 9-foot-wide pass-through kitchen.
