Carter's Review

This modern, mid-rise apartment building at 353 East 104th Street is on the southeast corner at First Avenue in East Harlem. 

It is known as Observatory Place.  It was erected in 2007 by Silverspoint Buildings, which is headed by Andrew Liebhaber. 

The 11-story building was designed by Gary Silver. 

It has 38 condominium apartments. 

It is named for an old park and local observation point. 

It has impressive vistas of the East River from its upper floors. 

The building is a LEED registered Green Building.

Bottom Line

An attractive, modern mid-rise building in East Harlem with good views of the East River and many balconies.

Description

A white modern base supports a dark red-brick setback tower. 

The development has many balconies and terraces.

Amenities

The building has a full-time doorman, a live-in superintendent, a roof deck, a garden, a gym, a bicycle room, and cold storage.  It permits pets.

Apartments

Apartments have bamboo floors. 

Penthouse 2 is a three-bedroom unit with an 24-foot-long living/dining room with a 10-foot-long open and windowed kitchen with an island and a 298-square-foot terrace. 

Apartment 6B is a two-bedroom unit with 1,331 square feet of interior space and 105 square feet of exterior space, a 20-foot-long living/dining room with a corner 11-foot-wide kitchenette. 

Apartment 4C is a two-bedroom unit with a 19-foot-long living/dining from and a 12-foot-wide open kitchen. 

Apartment 4E is a one-bedroom unit with a 20-foot-long living/dining room, an 11-foot-long kitchenette with an island ad a 8-foot-long study. 

Apartment 4D is a studio unit with a 14-foot-long living/dining room, a 12-foot-long open kitchenette with a breakfast bar, an 11-foot-long sleeping alcove and an 110-square-foot balcony.
