Carter's Review

This 12-story building at 1810 Third Avenue between 100th and 101st streets in East Harlem was erected in 2008 and has 76 condominium apartments.

It is known as The Art House and was developed by P&G Equities.

It was designed by William Alicea of World Design Architecture PLLC.

It is also known as 194-8 East 101st Street and was originally a rental building.

Bottom Line

A simple, but bulky, red-brick, mid-rise residential condominium with good amenities on Third Avenue in East Harlem with a dazzling Keith Haring-style mailbox area.

Description

The red-brick building has a broad entrance canopy and discrete air-conditioners.

Part of its lobby is festooned with very psychelic, Keith Haring-style murals near the mailboxes.

Amenities

The building has a roof deck, a garden, bicycle storage, a fitness center, a coffee lounge, a full-time doorman, a live-in superintendent and storage.

Apartments have washers and dryers and central air conditioning.

Apartment 86D is a three-bedroom unit with a long entry foyer that leads to an 11-foot-long kitchen and a 15-foot-long living room.

Apartment B9D is a three-bedroom unit with an 11-foot-long, windowed, eat-in kitchen that opens onto a 12-foot-long living/dining room.

Apartment B6A is a two-bedroom unit with a small entry foyer that leads to a 24-foot-long living/dining room with a 10-foot-long, windowed, open kitchen and a balcony off one of the bedrooms.

Apartment B9C is a two-bedroom unit with a small entry foyer next to an 11-foot-long kitchen and a 14-foot-wide living/dining room.
