Carter's Review

This attractive, 7-story residential building at 277 East 7th Street near Avenue D in the East Village was erected in 2014 and has 6 condominium apartments.  It is known as Seven East Village.

It was designed by Joseph Eisner for Saddle Rock Equities of which Steven J.  Ferguson is a partner.

Bottom Line

With collapsible floor-to-ceiling windows, several units with two balconies and a front façade with zinc spandrels with vertical reveal patterns, this mid-block building in the East Village has floor-through apartments and a bike-sharing program.

Description

The building, which replaced a parking lot, has a concrete façade with an inset balcony on the second floor and stainless-steel mesh balconies on the third through the sixth floors on the north and south façades.

The building has spandrels with a pewter patina of zinc panels in a vertical reveal pattern.

The building has sidewalk landscaping and a setback above the sixth floor.

Amenities

The building has a bike-sharing program, a virtual doorman, collapsible floor-to-ceiling windows, and a keyed elevator.

Apartments

There are five two-bedroom units with 1,200 square feet each and a 900-square-foot ground-level unit with a garden.

The units have wide plank floors, white lacquered kitchen cabinetry, Caesarstone kitchen counters and Fisher & Playkel stainless-steel kitchen appliances and Bertazonni ranges.

Bathrooms have radiant heating, double vanities, Noken NK toilets and Zuma Collection soaking tubs.

Ceilings are 9 feet 5 inches tall and apartments have “collapsible” floor-to-ceiling windows.

Apartments have LG washers and dryers.

Two penthouse units have roof decks with outdoor kitchens.

Residence 3 is a two-bedroom unit with a 21-foot-long living/dining room with a Juliet balcony and there is a balcony in the 20-foot-long master bedroom.

Residence 2 is a two-bedroom unit with a 21-foot-long living/dining room with an open, 9-foot-wide kitchen.
