Carter's Review

This pleasant, 8-story building at 222 East 3rd Street between Avenues B and C in the East Village was built in 2002 and has 61 rental apartments. 

It was erected by Lalezarian Properties and designed by the Stephen B. Jacobs Group.

Bottom Line

This is an attractive, mid-rise building in the East Village with a gym, a roof deck and a very attractive landscaped courtyard.

 

Description

This mid-block building has a gray façade with two projecting sections and a setback top floor. 

It has a large, glass entrance marquee that is angled upwards and sidewalk landscaping.

The building has discrete air-conditioners.

 

Amenities

The building has a roof deck, a large landscaped courtyard, a gym, a laundry, a virtual doorman and a live-in superintendent. 

Apartments

Many of the apartments have brick walls and some have washers and dryers. 

Penthouse 1E is a duplex unit with three-bedrooms with an entry foyer across from a spiral staircase and a long hall to a 16-foot-wide living room that has access to a large terrace as does a bedroom on the same level.  There are two bedrooms on the upper level. 

Apartment E on floors 2 through 6 is a two-bedroom unit with an entry foyer that leads past an open kitchen to a 14-foot-long living room. 

Penthouse 2I is a one-bedroom unit with a 17-foot-long living room with an open kitchen.
