Carter's Review
This clean-cut and handsome new residential, 7-story building has a bright sandstone-brick façade with aluminum accents, which makes it a beacon of modernism in this Far East Village neighborhood.
The building, which has several balconies and terraces, has 26 condominium apartments and roof deck and a two-story lobby with part-time-doorman/concierge.
The apartments have white-oak flooring, double-pane windows, washers and dryers, black granite countertops in the kitchens and limestone counters and flooring in the bathrooms.
In March, 2005, prices ranged from about $410,000 to $445,000 for 434-foot studios to $595,000 to $815,000 for one-bedroom units ranging in size from 632 to 799 square feet, to $1,075,000 to $1,400,000 for two-bedroom units ranging in size from 1,039 to 1,121 square feet.
Although the Far East Village for decades was one of the city s most run-down areas, in recent years it was witnessed considerable gentrification and there are now numerous restaurants and art galleries in the area, which does not have great public transportation.
The Fillmore was the name of a large theater on Second Avenue in the East Village that hosted many rock concerts in the 1960s and 1970s.
