In 2015, Metro Loft Management began converting it to 418 rental apartments and the architect for the conversion was Avinash Malhotra.
The building, which is also known as 1 Platt Street and 225-235 Pearl Street,The plain, Art Deco-style, 35-story office building at 116 John Street in the Financial District was erected in 1931 and designed by Charles Glaser and Louis Allen Abramson.
