Overview of Downtown by Starck at 15 Broad Street

Located at 15 Broad Street in the Financial District, Downtown by Starck is named after Philippe Starck, the “starchitect” who oversaw the design of its conversion from offices to residential condos.

15 Broad Street once housed the headquarters of J.P. Morgan’s banking segment and now contains approximately 380 apartments. There are more than 150 different floor plans in Downtown by Starck, which is 40 stories tall and has residences ranging from studios to three-bedroom units. Apartments are large and feature high ceilings and washers and dryers. Marble-clad bathrooms have soaking tubs and kitchens feature modern appliances and custom lighting systems designed by Starck.

Notable amenities include an attended lobby, a concierge, a full-time doorman, central air conditioning and heating, a health club, a pool, a party room and a spectacular rooftop terrace that overlooks the nearby New York Stock Exchange. 15 Broad Street is located near a major subway station and is close to the restaurants and retail shops in the surrounding FiDi.

Carter’s Review

"Directly across Wall Street from Federal Hall National Memorial and directly across Broad Street from the New York Stock Exchange, Downtown by Philippe Stark at 15 Broad Street is  a  major conversion project of two commercial structures to condominium apartments at the most impressive Lower Manhattan location.

It consists of the five-story building at 23 Wall Street that originally was the headquarters of J. P. Morgan's banking operations and the 42-story office building at 15 Broad Street that wraps around it and was originally the Equitable Trust Building. "

Broker & Buyer Comments

This "Downtown by Philippe Starck" conversion of JP Morgan's former HQ delivers "jaw-dropping amenities" including a "stunning pool," bowling alley and "7th-floor urban oasis." The "landmark" 42-story tower offers "stylish" residences with "soaring ceilings" and "abundant light," while the "grand lobby" featuring Morgan's original chandelier sets a "luxe tone." Located in the "heart of FiDi" across from the NYSE, this "full-service" building provides "hotel-like" amenities including 24/7 doorman, concierge, and "state-of-the-art" fitness facilities.
