Carter's Review
This 26-story, beige brick, apartment tower was erected in 1984 and contains apartments. It was developed by the Peter Kalikow Organization and designed by Philip Birnbaum.
It was converted to co-operative apartments in 1988.
It is one the former site of the Belmore Cafeteria, a favorite, 24-hour eating spot for taxi drivers.
It is set back on the avenue with retail stores and has a side-street, canopied entrance in fencing in a plaza with an entrance to the uptown Lexington Avenue local subway.
It is across 28th Street from a McDonald's.
Bottom Line
A gawky tower in a plaza with a fine location convenient to the popular NoMad and Flatiron districts.
