Carter's Review
The mixed-use, 7-story building at 148 East 19th Street, which is also known as 220 Third Avenue, is called Gramercy 19.
It has 16 residential condominium apartments and was enlarged in 2010 from three flours to seven by Asher Dardashtian, a partner in A. J. Clark Management. Lauwrence Pinner of the Port Washington, L.I. architecture firm of Pinner Associates designed the enlargement that included fire escapes, a building element not usually found in new construction in and around Gramercy Park, which is half a block away to the east.
The lower three floors of the building are commercial.
The building has two penthouse duplexes with exterior spiral staircases.
Apartments have Brazilian walnut flooring and kitchens have Sub Zero refrigerators, Miele stoves and dishwashers and Scavalini Crystal Glass cabinetry. All units have washers and dryers and individual heating and air-conditioning controls, and bathrooms have Vintage wood porcelain tiling, Lenfex vanities, Hansgrohe Raindance showerheads, Grigio glass wall tiling, Xilo Porcelain floor tiling, Kohler tubs and Toto toilets.
The building has a virtual doorman service, a landscaped roofdeck with pergola, storage and allows pet and offers free membership to the Player s Club with first year's dues paid.
The roofline on the side-street is notched.
