Carter's Review
In September, 2006 Broad Street Development began selling condominium apartments in this 7-story, red-brick building that was erected as a rental in 1970.
The building at 184 Thompson Street is on the southeast corner of Bleecker Street, two blocks south of Washington Square Park and two blocks north of SoHo.
The building has about 140 residential condominium apartments.
The building was acquired in 2005 for $54,500,000 by Broad Street Development, of which Raymond Chalme is president, from General Investment and Development Companies. Mr. Chalme was formerly with JEMB Realty, which was headed by his father-in-law, Morris Bailey.
The building has a 24-hour doorman, a roof deck and an exposed roof-top watertank.
Most of the apartments have balconies. There are 93 studios, 43 one-bedroom apartments and 4 two-bedroom units. The first and six floors have duplex and loft units, many of which have gardens and roof decks.
Kitchens have Avanti stainless steel stoves, refrigerators and dishwashers, Narva cabinetry, Ceaser stone countertops and Moen faucets.
Bathrooms have Ronbow cherry wood cabinets, Timor stone tile floors, Espi stone tile walls and Toto toilets.
Prices started at about $420,000.
Broad Street Development s also has interests in 61 Broadway, 75 Broad Street, 370 Lexington Avenue and 1438 Third Avenue.
CMA Design Studio was the architect for the conversion.
