Carter's Review
This attractive, 6-story, red-brick apartment building at 290 Sixth Avenue between Minetta Lane and Bleecker Street in Greenwich Village was erected in 1941 and has 66 co-operative units.
It was designed by H. I. Feldman.
It is close to Washington Square Park and several subways.
Bottom Line
Despite three fire-escapes, the unusual plan and punched roof lines of this modest, red-brick apartment building in Greenwich Village is very attractive.
Description
This building has more than a dozen façades on its western side and its three main center façades have fire-escapes.
It has a very handsome entrance surround in its light well.
Three of its west façades have rooflines with small punched-out squares instead of cornices but the punched-out squares are very attractive.
Amenities
The building has a live-in superintendent, voice intercom, bicycle room, storage, garden and a laundry.
