Carter's Review
This 19-story apartment building was erected in 1960 directly across from St. Vincent's Hospital and converted to a condominium in 1987. Located on a nice street in the West Village, the red-brick structure has 214 apartments. An express subway station is located at the building's entrance and crosstown buses run on 14th Street. The neighborhood has several large supermarkets and famous gourmet food stores nearby and PS 41, one of the city's best public schools, is on 11th Street and the Avenue of the Americas. This doorman building has a small, but pleasant lobby. The building has no balconies, but the top of the building has some setback terraces. There are numerous nice restaurants and nightclubs around the corner on 13th Street and several major supermarkets and famous food stores nearby. Some of the prettiest streets in Greenwich Village are also nearby and the doorman building is also convenient to the Chelsea district that began to attract many art galleries in the late 1990's.
