Carter's Review
Just south of the Claremont at 8 Union Square South on the southwest corner at 14th Street is another, smaller condominium project by the same developer, the Claremont Group, and architect, Arpad Baksa, 126 University Place between 13th and 14th Streets that was built in 2004.
The first, 3rd, 5th and top of the façade was clad in honed stone while split-face stone was used at the 2nd, 4th and 6th floors allowing the façade to be perceived, according to the architect, as a solid stone that has been carved away to reveal the layers beneath.
The building is half a block from a Whole Foods store and Union Square Park.
There are numerous restaurants nearby on University Place and the area has excellent public transportation.
