Carter's Review
This 14-story, red-brick apartment building at 60 West 13th Street in Greenwich Village was erected in 1967 and has 70 condominium apartments.
It is known as Village House and was designed by Alex Danin.
In a February 1, 1970 article in The New York Times Franklin Whitehouse wrote that “there are two high-rise condominium apartment houses in Manhattan - the St. Tropez, a 33-story building at 340 East 64th Street and the 12-story Village House at 60 West 13th Street.”
Bottom Line
A routine red-brick building on one of the very good streets off Lower Fifth Avenue in Greenwich Village that is notable for its impressive, large, raised sidewalk planters and slightly sunken entrance.

The mid-block building has a canopied sunken entrance flanked by large sidewalk planters.
The red-brick façades has some broad blue mullions between windows in the center of its façade and its top two floors are partially setback with angles.
The building is just to the west of a very attractive brown-brick mid-rise hotel.
The building has discrete air-conditioners.
