Carter's Review

This 11-story building at 725 Riverside Drive on the southeast corner at 150th Street in the Hamilton Heights section of Harlem was built by Robert M. Silverman in 1914 with 55 apartments. It was then known as the Imperator and it now has 74 condominium apartments.

Amenities include a live-in super, part-time doorman, elevator, and common laundry. The building is close to Riverside Park, Riverbank State Park, Columbia University, and the 1, A/C, and B/D subway lines.

It is pet-friendly.

Bottom Line

This attractive, beige-brick mid-rise apartment building on the southeast corner of Riverside Drive and 150th Street was erected in 1914.

Description

The beige brick building has decorative bandcourses above the first, fourth and ninth floors.

It permits window air-conditioners and has a light court entrance on Riverside Drive.

Originally, according to a rendering reproduced in The New York Times on July 26, 1914 about several new "magnificent" apartment houses rising on Park Avenue and the West Side, the building had a balustraded cornice and a few handsome decorative balconies, all of which are now missing.

Amenities

This building has a part-time doorman, a live-in superintendent, and is pet-friendly.
