Carter's Review

This attractive, 12-story building at 2296 Frederick Douglass Boulevard was erected in 2010 and contains 44 condominium apartments over a 124-room, Starwood Aloft Hotel.

The building was erected by RCG Longview is the developer and the project was designed by H. Thomas O’Hara Architect PLLC.

It is also known as 2300 Frederick Douglass Boulevard and 260-270 West 124th Street.

Bottom Line

A red-brick apartment building with cornices sits atop a boutique Starwood Aloft Hotel with a glass façade and a dramatic entrance one block away from 125th Street.

Description

The hotel is contained in the lower 6 floors of the building and much of its façade is glass while the condominium section of the building is red brick.  The residential section of the building has nice cornices.

The hotel has a dramatic, 8-story, mid-block, entrance surround.

Amenities

The building has a doorman, a gym, a bicycle room, a garage and a roof deck.  A September 17, 2010 article in The New York Times by Marc Santora said that because the hotel has no restaurant there is no room service for the condo owners.
