Carter's Review

This pleasant and pastelly, 8-story apartment building at 2231 Adam Clayton Powell Boulevard between 131st and 132nd streets in Harlem was erected in 2015 and designed by Loci Architecture.

It has 115 condominium apartments.

BRP Companies is the developer of which Meredith Marshall is a co-founder.

Rinehardt/Miller is the interior designer.

Bottom Line

A nicely modulated mid-rise condominium project in Harlem with four different façade colors and a co-generation plant, landscaped courtyard and penthouse fitness center.

Description

The building is a LEED Certified (pending) project and has a co-generation plant, a green roof, and double-pane windows.

Its façades have four sections, each colored differently.  The base façade is beige.  An indented upper façade is light blue. The top façade is indented further and is a pale blue.  Much of the side base façade is white.

Amenities

The building has a 24-hour attended lobby, bicycle storage, a penthouse fitness center, a residents’ lounge and media room, and a landscaped courtyard with grilling stations and seating.

Apartments

Apartments have white oak plant floors, GE washer and exterior vented dryer.

Penthouse B is a three-bedroom unit with an entry foyer next to the open, pass-through kitchen and a 17-foot-long living area that open on to an “L”-shaped terrace.

Penthouse 21 is a two-bedroom unit with an entry foyer adjacent to the open kitchen with an island and a 17-foot-long living room flanked by the bedrooms.

Apartment 615 is a two-bedroom unit with an entry foyer adjacent to the open, pass-through kitchen and a 17-foot-long living area.

Apartment 618 is a one-bedroom unit with a 16-foot-long living room and an open, pass-through kitchen.
