Carter's Review
This handsome development at 300 west 135th Street in Harlem is known as Strivers Gardens and consists of two mid-sized apartment towers joined at their bases that share a very attractive garden with a waterfall. One of the towers is 7 stories and the other 12 stories.
It was built in 2003 by the NYC Partnership for Housing and designed by Davis Brody Bond.
It has 170 condominium apartments.
Bottom Line
An attractive, large condominium development with nice layouts in two mid-size towers separated by a nicely landscaped courtyard with a waterfall in a prime section of Harlem.
Description
The beige-brick buildings have projecting piers that are capped with metal bay windows but flush with the low-rise retail base that give the long façades considerable interest.
The building has a large entrance marquee that leads to a revolving door entrance and a large lobby.
Amenities
The building has a concierge and a doorman, a roof deck, garage, a garden courtyard with waterfall, residents’ lounge with kitchen, fitness center, storage, two laundry rooms and it is pet friendly.
Apartments
Apartment 12D is a two-bedroom unit with a 7-foot-wide entry foyer that leads to a 21-foot-long living room with a 6-foot-long dining alcove next to a 7-foot-wide pass-through kitchen. The living room has a spiral staircase that leads up to a 35-foot-long terrace.
Penthouse 7R is a two-bedroom unit with a 29-foot-long living room with a 10-foot-wide dining alcove next to the 8-foot-long kitchen. The living room has a spiral staircase that leads up to a 60-foot-long roof deck.
