Carter's Review

This 46-story apartment tower at 235 Grand Street in the Paulus Hook section of Jersey City was developed by the Ironstate Development Group and the KRE Group run by the Kushner family. 

It has 549 rental apartments. 

It was designed by HLW architects and completed in 2019. 

Bentel & Bentel was the interior designer. 

The property was formerly a storage facility that was erected in 1912 and for 30 years was home to the Boys and Girls Club of Hudson County. 

According to an April 17, 2017 article by Chris Fry at jerseydigs.com. Ironstate "will be extending Grove Street one block south under the plan so that it dead ends at Sussex Street right in front of Morris Square Park."  "The little known and well-hidden park, which abuts the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail tracks," the article continued, "will be completely reconstructed and expanded as part of the project to include components like a children's play area and a merry-go-round."

A pleasant brown and blue, 46-story rental tower with many apartments and amenities in Jersey City about nine-blocks west of the Hudson River.

Description

The tower rises partially from a podium base that houses a new facility for the Boys and Girls Club. 

The building will have 6,380 square feet of retail space. 

The tower has a distinctive façade that splits vertically its brown and pale-blue-colored façades from the height of the podium to its slanted roofline with a thin white pier.

Amenities

The pet-friendly building has an attended lobby, a fitness center with a swimming pool, an outdoor movie screen, a roof deck, a dog run, a children's playroom, a business center, a co-working space, an event room, a bicycle room, a library and a 347-car garage.

Apartments

Apartments have Kronosswiss plank floor, weathered ash lower kitchen cabinets and white gloss laminate upper kitchen cabinets, Whirlpool washers and dryers, and Bianco quartz kitchen countertops. 

Apartment 2005 is a two-bedroom unit with 1,045 square feet. 

Residence 11 is a studio unit with an open kitchen and a 16-foot-wide living room. 

Residence 10 has a 17-foot-long open kitchen that leads to an angled 13-foot-long living room. 

Residence 13 has an entry foyer, an open kitchen, a 23-foot-long living room with a 10-foot-long sleeping alcove.
