Carter's Review
This handsome red-brick, 7-story building at 22 Caton Place in Windsor Terrace southwest of Prospect Park in of Brooklyn was built in 2015 by The Hudson Companies Inc.
The principals of Hudson are William Fowler, David Kramer, Sally Gilliland, Aaron Koffman, and Alison Novak.
Its projects include the high-rise J Condominium at 100 Jay Street, the very handsome Cobble Hill Towers at Warren, Hicks and Baltic Streets, Dumont Green in East New York, Third + Bond, and the Knick Condominium at 318-334 Knickerbocker Avenue, all in Brooklyn, and the high-rise NYU Dormitory behind a church façade at 120 East 12th Street, the Clinton at 520 West 48th Street and the Marais at 520 West 23rd Street in Manhattan,
It has 73 rental apartments and was designed by Kiss + Cathart.
It is across from Kensington Stables, which houses 31 horses, two blocks from Prospect Park and a short walk to subways.
Bottom Line
A two-tone, mid-rise residential complex with numerous slightly angled and vine-covered balconies and inset windows near Prospect Park and across from a stable.
Description
Its red-brick façade with three stepped setbacks extends a bit beyond the beige-brick bulk of the building with is considerably setback on the side-street and has numerous angled balconies, some of which create loggias on Caton Avenue.
The building has an entrance marquee and a three-step-up entrance and its façade is rusticated.
The building has sunlit elevator lobbies and the articulated brick façade is enhanced with vine covered balconies.
It is hoping for LEED-Gold certification.

The building has a roof deck with gas grills and gardening, a boule court, landscaped courtyard, an attended lobby that accepts packages and has cold food storage, outdoor dog paw rinse area, a residents’ lounge, a children’s playroom, a gym, covered car and bike parking, a live-in superintendent, and a pet grooming room.

Apartments have washers and dryers, stainless steel GE kitchen appliances, stone kitchen countertops.
Apartment D on the 3rd and 4th floors is a three-bedroom unit with an entry foyer that leads to a long hall that opens onto a 24-foot-long living room with a 15-foot-wide terrace and an 11-foot-wide dining alcove next to an open kitchen.
