Carter's Review
This 20-story, post-war, gray-brick apartment building is a cooperative and has 45 units and a fine central Upper East Side location.
The building has a full-time doorman, balconies, a gym, a garden, discrete air-conditioners, and a canopied entrance. It has no garage.
It is across the street from the very handsome Trafalgar House at 188 East 70th Street, one of the nicest "Post-Modern" apartment towers in the city.
There is excellent local shopping in the vicinity and the fashionable boutiques of Madison Avenue are only two very attractive blocks to the west. There are many good restaurants in this area and many major art galleries and exclusive clubs are also nearby.
While Third Avenue has considerable traffic, the building's double thick windows silence the noise. The avenue has also dramatically transformed itself from the dingy days of the "El" to the Upper East Side's finest assemblage of luxury apartment towers.
There is a local uptown bus stop between 69 and 70th Streets on Third Avenue and a downtown bus at 70th Street and Lexington. The 6 train station is a few blocks away at 68th Street and Lexington Avenue.
