Carter's Review
This attractive, red-brick, 19-story apartment building was erected in 1963 and is a cooperative with 69 units.
It has a one-story, polished black granite base, terraces, a garage, a doorman, sidewalk landscaping and, with the exception of two protruding air-conditioners, discrete air-conditioners. The sidestreet is part of the handsome Treadwell Farm Historic District and has many attractive townhouses.
This building has broad windows and is distinguished by small copper squares that run up the south façade. The building has no balconies, no health club, and no roof deck. It is across the street from a rental apartment tower that has a large plaza along Third Avenue that affords this building a fair bit of "light and air."
This is a lively and attractive section of Third Avenue, highlighted by numerous tall luxury apartment towers and a variety of restaurants and shops. Bloomingdale's and a subway station are two blocks to the south.
