Carter's Review
This mid-block condominium apartment building is one of the most elegant post-war buildings on the Upper East Side Side.
The 7-story building at 433 East 74th Street has 12 apartments, including a duplex maisonette, and was developed by Josh Guberman of Core Development Group, the developer also of Union Square Lofts.
The building, which was completed in 2008 and is called Lux 74, was designed by Chris Caranno of ADG Architecture and Design, PC.
The building has 24-hour concierge service and a landscaped roof deck, a spa club, and an residents' lounge and dining area with fireplace and a full-time superintendent and porter.
Kitchens have custom Italian walnut cabinetry, Viking appliances, Sub Zero refrigerators, Giallo Elena limestone countertops and backsplashes, and Thermador ovens.
Bathrooms have walnut vanities, wall mounted faucets, radiant warm floor systems, Toto Ultimate toilets, Dranch Rain shower heads, and limestone walls.
The rear garden is immense with a rear wall of tall bamboo trees.
Initial pricing ranged from $1,200,000 for a 1,240-square-foot one-bedroom unit to $8,200,000 for a 5,896-square-foot, five-bedroom apartment with a 985-square-foot garden.
