Carter Horsley's Building Review Carter Horsley

Carter's Review

This very attractive, brown-brick, 11-story apartment building was erected in 1928 and converted to a cooperative in 1982. It has 71 apartments.

It is across the street from the entrance to Trump Palace, the very tall and handsome apartment tower designed by Frank Williams for Donald Trump.

This mid-block building has a one-story limestone base and a two-stone limestone entrance surround and three limestone band-courses. It has a doorman, a canopied, one-step up entrance and a five-step-down lobby. The building has sidewalk landscaping, but no balconies, no terraces, no garage, no health club and no roof deck.

This is a very lively neighborhood with many excellent local stores and a good mix of architecture.

The building has a central Upper East Side location that is not far from the area's many fashionable boutiques and restaurants, art galleries and museums, and social clubs. It is close to Hunter College and there is good public transportation nearby.
