Carter's Review

This attractive, 21-story apartment building at 175 East 62nd Street on the southeast corner at Lexington Avenue was erected in 1960 and designed by Paul Resnick and Harry F. Green.

It has 64 co-operative apartments.

It is called The Victorian.

It is convenient to Bloomingdale’s, restaurants and shopping.

Bottom Line

A central and prime location near the south end of the Upper East Side that has large apartments, a paneled lobby and is convenient to public transportation and Bloomingdale’s.

Description

This beige-brick building has a one-story base that has polished-black-granite-and-white-brick vertical components and its canopied entrance has sidewalk landscaping.

The building has discrete air-conditioners, some bay windows and some setbacks.

The building has a full-time doorman, a garage, a laundry, and basement storage.

Apartments

Apartment 18B is a one-bedroom unit with a 9-foot-long entry foyer that leads past 13-foot-wide dining room with a large bay window next to the 9-foot-wide, windowed kitchen to a 21-foot-wide living room with some angled windows and an entrance to a 44-foot-long terrace.  The master bedroom has an 8-foot-wide balcony.

Apartment 16B is a three-bedroom unit with a 28-foot-long entrance gallery that opens onto a 28-foot-wide living room that has a 37-foot-long terrace and is next to a 20-foot-long, windowed, eat-in kitchen.

Apartment 2D is a three-bedroom unit with a 12-foot-wide entrance gallery that leads to a 24-foot-long living room in one direction and a 17-foot-long dining room next to a 19-foot-long kitchen, a 10-foot-long staff room, and a 41-foot-long terrace in the other direction.

Apartment 18A is a one-bedroom unit with a 13-foot-long entry foyer that leads to a 23-foot-wide living room and a 17-foot-wide study, both with access to a 27-foot-long terrace.  The apartment has a 22-foot-long dining room next to a 17-foot-long kitchen that turns into a 9-foot-long office.
