Carter's Review

This 25-story, gray-brick apartment building was erected in 1989 and converted to a condominium the following year. Just to the south of the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts and two blocks to the north of the New York Coliseum redevelopment site, this 120-unit building has a prime and very convenient Upper West Side location. It is one block away from Central Park. While many so-called "white-brick" buildings are actually light gray, this "gray" building is a very rich, strong, dark and attractive gray that is a rather unusual and not unpleasing color for the city. The neighboring buildings here ran a wide gamut of colors and architectural styles, perhaps con brio. Although the building's layouts are fairly conventional, the the rectlinear tower is setback above a low-rise base that is angled to hold the building line. Public transportation here is excellent with subways and buses just a few blocks away. The area has many restaurants and major retailers are also nearby.
