Carter Horsley's Building Review Carter Horsley
Aug 20, 2013

Carter's Review

This very prominent building at 4610 Center Boulevard on the East River in Long Island City is behind the famous Pepsi-Cola sign.

The 26-story structure was erected by T.F. Cornerstone in 2014 as part of its EastCoast development and it has 584 rental apartments.

It was designed by Arquitectonica, the Miami-based architectural firm responsible for many fine flamboyant residential buildings in Miami.

Yabu Pushelberg was the interior designer.

In addition to the surrounding waterfront park, there is a K-8 public school, a pharmacy, and a food market within walking distance.

Bottom Line

Directly behind the famous Pepsi-Cola sign across the East River from the United Nations complex, this blue-glass rental apartment tower has numerous apartments with large, curved living/dining rooms and its south wall is a rich tapestry of balconies.

Description

The main tower of this L-shaped building is slightly cantilevered at its west end and its north façade has quite a few less balconies than its south façade whose many, widely spaced balconies make the façade a shimmering and impressive architectural brocade.

Amenities

The building has a 24-hour concierge, a fitness center, a club room, and a garden.
