Carter's Review

Located at 27-28 Thompson Avenue in Long Island City, Arris Lofts is an attractive, 8-story, former Eagle Electric factory building that was converted in 2008 to condominium apartments.

The building, which was originally built in 1920, has 237 apartments.

It was developed by the Andalex Group and designed by Costas Kondylis.

The triangular building is also bounded by Court Square and Sunnyside Yards.

Bottom Line

A mid-rise, triangular building with interesting layouts overlooks Court Square and Sunnyside Yards in Long Island City and offers convenient public transportation and many amenities.

Description

The building’s simple, light-colored façade offers little hint of its interior amenities that include a large triangular landscaped courtyard with a very handsomely landscaped pond and its adjacent interior lap pool surrounded by very large and attractive columns and large windows overlooking the garden.

Amenities

The building is located only one subway stop to Manhattan and offers such amenities as a 4,700-square-foot lobby attended by a full-time doorman/concierge, a live-in superintendent, a children’s playroom, valet parking service, a garage, a roof deck, a fitness center, a lap pool and a Japanese-style courtyard.
